On November 9, 1923, the first meeting of Lambda Phi Epsilon was called to order by James McGraw. The local fraternity was proud to be the only male organization that was student specific. Were as most other groups allowed local businessmen in their groups, they only allowed students from the college to join. The membership of this new organization flourished on campus causing this small organization to move out of its house on Park Street. As Lambda Phi Epsilon, this young organization saw many different meeting places. For a short time the fraternity was housed in the old Masonic rooms located in the circle of downtown Angola. This didn’t work out as well as they had first hoped causing them to turn into more of a male club rather than a fraternity. So they went in search of a house to accommodate their brotherhood. In 1925, Lambda Phi Epsilon opened the doors to the first fraternity house in Angola. Within a short time the fraternity was looking for closer accommodations to the college to shorten the hike that they had to make, which was especially challenging during the winter months and the ensuing snow drifts to make it to roll call on time. In March of 1927, the Lambdas moved to 507 West Gale St. |

"We'll fight, fight, fight for our fraternity,
With all our might to win a victory;
Here's to our colors true, salute the gold and blue,
We cherish them with love and loyalty.
Then, loudly we laud thy name, and
Proudly thy praise proclaim,
Ring out strong with this cry,
We stand for LAMBDA PHI."
